FAQ
DDP shipping to Mexico FAQ
What DDP covers, the licensed broker, DDP vs DAP, IMMEX, and delivery scope.
What does DDP shipping to Mexico include?
Freight, licensed-broker pedimento filing, duty, 16% IVA, and delivery — one number, itemised. The Padrón and RFC are confirmed before booking.
Does DDP remove the need for a licensed broker?
No. Mexican law requires the pedimento to be filed by a licensed agente aduanal regardless of the Incoterm. Under DDP we coordinate the broker and the filing is included in the landed cost, but the licensed broker is still legally required.
DDP or DAP for Mexico?
DDP if you want a fixed landed cost with the broker filing handled. DAP if you have your own broker and prefer to manage the entry. Either way, the licensed broker and Padrón are mandatory.
What about IMMEX manufacturers?
Manufacturers under IMMEX or similar programmes have different treatment for temporary imports, which materially changes the landed cost. If it applies to you, raise it at quote time.
Can you deliver DDP to a Mexican plant or DC?
Yes. The delivery address is priced into the landed cost whether it is a plant, warehouse, or DC.
