Where air wins
We compare priority, economy, and door-to-door options against your stockout date — not just the airport rate.

Documents & compliance
Post-Brexit the UK is a separate customs territory with its own tariff and declaration system. Air cargo arrives through CDS, not the old CHIEF system, and a GB EORI number must be in place before the shipment lands. Import VAT at 20 percent can be postponed to your VAT return rather than paid at the border.

How it works
You see what is ready, what is moving, and what HMRC still needs before the freight arrives.
We check your GB EORI, postponed VAT position, dimensions, batteries, and the warehouse receiving window.
Cartons are collected, photographed, weighed, and matched to the commercial invoice.
Flight milestones and customs status sit in one tracking thread shared with your team.
We coordinate the CDS declaration, duty, VAT treatment, and final-mile delivery to your warehouse or 3PL.
FAQ
Transit days, chargeable weight, Heathrow vs East Midlands, postponed VAT, batteries, and when express beats air. Don't see yours? An agent answers it in minutes.
Airport to airport is 3–5 days on priority services and 5–8 days on economy. Door to door — including pickup, export handling, CDS declaration, and final-mile delivery — usually runs 7–12 days. The variable that moves it most is not the flight but the customs and delivery leg at destination.
Air freight prices on chargeable weight: the greater of actual gross weight and volumetric weight calculated from carton dimensions. Light, bulky cargo almost always prices on volume, which is why an air quote given without your carton dimensions is unreliable. We recalculate from measured cartons at intake so the number does not move after collection.
Heathrow is the primary long-haul cargo gateway with the widest carrier choice and capacity. East Midlands handles significant freighter volume and is particularly useful for Midlands and northern distribution. We route against your delivery postcode rather than defaulting to one — the trucking leg from the wrong airport can cost more than the freight difference.
UK import VAT is 20 percent on most goods. Postponed VAT accounting lets a VAT-registered business account for that VAT on its normal return rather than paying it at the border and reclaiming later. For most importers it is straightforwardly better for cash flow, since the money never leaves the business. We confirm which basis you are on before quoting so the landed cost matches what you will actually fund.
Yes, when the shipment meets airline and IATA requirements. Send the battery type, watt-hour rating, MSDS, UN38.3 test summary, and packing details so we can confirm the lane before pickup. Hong Kong frequently offers wider carrier choice for dangerous goods.
For door-to-door parcels under roughly 200 kg, express courier (DHL, FedEx, or UPS) is usually cheaper and simpler — one tracking number, simplified customs, and no separate broker handoff. Above that threshold, consolidated air freight wins on per-kilo cost. We price both when a shipment is near the crossover; see the express page for the courier model.
